July brought movement across CLAP

Focus 10 Women and Vyazha-Vattam gatherings opened new avenues. Collaborations multiplied. Market linkages began to emerge. And women of CLAP came together to watch the award-winning film "Feminichi Fathima", sparking conversations on courage, equality, and everyday empowerment.

From the Moon to the stage, CEEM went places!

THE MONTH BEGAN WITH A QUESTION…

What happens when you give curiosity a place to go?

It took us to the Moon Expo, through a Nitrogen Show, into the Planetarium, and across a month of stories, creativity, confidence, career exploration, and new learning spaces.

🚀 THE FIRST STEM LESSON WASN’T IN A CLASSROOM…

It began with a question: “What else is out there?”

The new STEM batch began its journey with an exciting visit to the Regional Science Centre & Planetarium (RSCP), turning their first STEM activity into an experience of wonder and discovery.

Students explored the Planetarium Show and 3D Science Show, witnessed exciting live science demonstrations, experienced Mirror Magic, and interacted with hands-on exhibits. Each experience encouraged them to observe, question, and look at science from a new perspective.

More than a visit, it became a launchpad for curiosity, setting the tone for an exciting STEM learning journey ahead.

✨ BEYOND THE BIG MOMENTS

📖 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN STORIES COME ALIVE?

Basheer Day became more than a celebration of a literary icon. Students stepped into the world of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer through role-plays, short videos, quizzes, collage making, drawing, and colouring. By recreating stories and characters in their own ways, students explored literature while finding creative ways to express themselves.

🗣️ WHAT IF SPEAKING ENGLISH DIDN’T FEEL SCARY?

For Theeram students, an English Language Training session with Basi turned hesitation into participation. Through games, conversations, and interactive activities, students found a comfortable space to practice, speak, make mistakes, and try again—gradually building the confidence to use English more freely.

🎯 WHAT COULD YOUR FUTURE LOOK LIKE?

Students from Project Azham and MissionTEN got a glimpse into the possibilities within the Indian Armed Forces through an engaging session with Lt. Aswanth. Alongside learning about career pathways and selection opportunities, students completed an aptitude assessment, helping them reflect on their strengths and think more intentionally about their future.

🏡 WHAT IF LEARNING COULD COME CLOSER TO HOME?

With the launch of a new Theeram Neighbourhood Learning Hub at Krishna Learning Hub, another learning space opened its doors to children in the community. The new hub creates a welcoming environment where children can learn, explore, build confidence, and grow together—bringing meaningful learning opportunities closer to where they live.

🎨 WHEN LEARNING GETS CREATIVE, WHAT CAN CHILDREN CREATE?

From a simple sheet of paper to an intricate origami creation, every activity became an opportunity to imagine and experiment. Through origami, drawing, and arts & crafts, students developed creativity, concentration, fine motor skills, and self-expression—proving that learning can happen through hands, minds, and imagination.

🤝 WHAT CHANGES WHEN PARENTS BECOME PART OF THE JOURNEY?

Six parent meetings created spaces for honest conversations around baseline assessments, academic progress, learning needs, and student development. By bringing parents and fellows together, these conversations strengthened the support system surrounding each learner and encouraged a shared responsibility for their growth.

🎭 WHAT IF THE CLASSROOM COULD BECOME A SPACE FOR DIALOGUE?

Through a Theatre of the Oppressed (TOTO) session led by Haider, fellows explored participatory approaches that place children at the heart of learning. The session encouraged them to reflect, interact, and experiment with new ways of facilitating engaging and child-centred classrooms.

Learning isn’t limited to what happens during class time. Across Three Learning Circle sessions, fellows paused to look closely at student progress, reflect on their classroom experiences, share what was working well, and refine their plans for the learning hubs.

Because better learning begins with the willingness to keep learning.

Dear July,

Thank you for the learning, growth, and quiet moments of progress with MissionTEN’s students.

You helped them strengthen their foundations, revisit core concepts, and build confidence for SSLC. Through Learning Circles and Coordinators’ Meetings, you gave fellows space to reflect and ask, “Can we do this better?”

With Adv. Zeenath's session on discipline, you reminded everyone that real progress needs more than lessons—it needs positive habits and small, consistent choices.

Most of all, thank you for showing that this mission was never just about an exam. It was about becoming a little more confident, a little more reflective, and a little more ready for what comes next.

It was about learning with confidence, reflecting with purpose, exploring with curiosity, and growing one step at a time. 

DTLP:  Dear July,

Today I’m writing to thank you for everything that was held for DTLP.

It began with a sense of completion. Level 2 participants finally closed their portfolios, stood up, and said, “This is what I made.” Mentors listened, feedback flowed, and growth became visible.

Then it pushed skills into the real world. Web development learners started building websites for two Thatthamā entrepreneurs through the CLAP Project. No longer just practice—this time, someone was waiting to use what they created.

Also reminded us that skills are only half the story. At Design Ashram, 36 participants joined a full-day communication session with TOTO practitioner Shujah Haider. Through activities and honest conversations, they worked on expression, presentation, and confidence. Finding their voice mattered as much as finding their skill.

And just when we thought it had done enough, it opened a new door. At iLAB Skill Hub, 31 participants from the community, DTLP batches, and iLAB fellows explored AI with trainer Zuhair. The big question wasn’t “What can AI do?” but “What could I do with it?”

It left behind completed portfolios, real-world projects, stronger communicators, and a community curious about technology.

It wasn’t just a month of learning.
It was a month of becoming.
