A Decade of Creating Safe Spaces for Learning and Aspirations
This year, iLAB completes 10 years of working alongside children, youth, and communities from coastal regions. What started with a few children has now grown into a learning ecosystem reaching nearly 2,000 learners through community-centered education and skill development initiatives.
To celebrate this milestone, iLAB is organizing a two-month journey of joyful and meaningful community experiences leading into Panjimuttayi 2026.

Building Healthy Digital Habits
This April, iLAB also introduced “Disconnect to Discover”, a campaign encouraging children to develop healthier and more mindful digital habits.
With increasing exposure to passive and unfiltered mobile content among children, the initiative focuses on helping them:
- Use technology meaningfully
- Reduce excessive screen time
- Reconnect with reading, creativity, play, and real-world experiences
Rather than moving away from technology completely, the campaign promotes balance, awareness, and purposeful learning.

What happens when children spend 15 days with stories instead of screens?
As part of iLAB’s 10-year celebrations, Read More invited children into a joyful reading journey through books and Google Read Along.

Replacing screen scrolling with imagination and real experiences.
Crochet, stuffed toy making, doodle art, and foam clay workshops helped children explore creativity, improve concentration and fine motor skills, while building confidence through hands-on learning experiences.

What can happen when children spend less time scrolling? Here are some of the wonderful things they created.
Young Minds Explore Coding and Innovation: STEM sessions introduced students to Scratch programming, animation, and game development, helping them improve logical thinking, creativity, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Chess Introduces Strategy and Focus: Students participated in a chess induction session that introduced them to the basics of chess while improving concentration, patience, logical thinking, and decision-making skills

This vacation, our children continue to stay busy creating, learning, and preparing for the exciting Panjimuttayi programs coming up in May.

❤️ Moving Forward Together
This April was just the beginning of our 10-year celebrations. As we move towards Panjimuttayi 2026 and more exciting initiatives ahead, we look forward to creating more spaces for children to learn, create, and discover their potential.
Thank you to everyone who continues to be part of the iLAB journey.
